Vita

  • Ulrich Pfammatter, born 1945 in the «Werkbund»-settlement Neubuehl, Zurich, relocation to Uerikon and then 1950 to Meilen on the shore of lake Zürich
  • Elementary and secondary schools in Meilen, and 1960 – 1964 High school (in mathematics and natural sciences) in Zurich, with weekly introductions in the basics of modern painting and drawing, gallery and plain air by Ernst Faesi (member of the Zurich Association of Artists), and art history of the 20th century by Fritz Billeter
  • 1964 – 1970 studies and diploma in architecture at the ETH Zurich (practical training in Rome), with basic knowledge of painting and science of colors and drawing (Hans Ess, reference to the schools of arts and design Bauhaus Dessau and Ulm); perspective teaching, figure drawing (Ulrich Schoop, sculptor); art and architecture history by Adolf Max Vogt, and form systems by Bernhard Hoesli
  • Founding of the «Gallery Arlequin» in Meilen with exhibitions, open days and meetings with Manfred Hoelzel and Werner Urfer (members of the Zurich Association of Artists), Jelena Jakubowska (Poland), Soan Qadri (India) and others

  • 1983 – 1991 lecturer at the school for art and design Zurich (today University of arts Zurich) for avant-garde culture, architecture and art and modern: cubism, futurism, de Stijl, constructivism-suprematism
  • 1991 – 2017 lecturer at ETH Zurich and at the Universities of applied sciences in Lucerne, Chur and Berne
  • Since 2014 painting courses in water color (Heinz Kropf), acrylic (Felix Eckardt, Hamburg), Gabriela Gfeller (sketching and water color), Gabriela Grossniklaus («Inspirations by Henri Matisse»), Larissa Frey (nude drawing and painting)
  • Since 2016 exhibitions (see under «exhibitions»)
  • In 2020 (Corona): International art project «View from windows during quarantine» with Russian, Swiss and German painters, exhibition in the localities of the Swiss Painting School (sms) near Berne
  • 2018 – 2020 member of the Guild of Swiss Mountain Painters (GSBM)
  • Since 2016 member of the Artis’s Association of Bremgarten/Argovia (KVB)
