Ulrich Pfammatter architect and painter

Some examples of this early work (during my studies at the ETH)

Drawing and painting - since early childhood it was part of everyday life to emulate to the father Ferdinand, who was not only an architect but also a talented draftsman, caricaturist and painter. In high school (today mathematical science high school) we learned pleinair drawing and painting after the cubists, impressionists, pointilists and fauvists from Professor Ernst Faesi, who was a member of the Association of Zürich Artists.

In addition, art historian Fritz Billeter introduced us to the history of architecture and art in the avant-garde and modern.

Systematic courses, introductions and practical work in the fields of colors, shapes and structures of art was taught in architecture studies by Professor Hans Ess, who was anchored in the tradition of Bauhaus culture and the school for design in Ulm (Max Bill).
